Join us in welcoming County Judge Executive Curtis McGehee as our keynote speaker for the 2019 Kentucky Emergency Services Conference.
Judge McGehee is a lifelong resident of Muhlenberg County. He has three children and four grandsons. His oldest son is a Sgt with Kentucky State Police, his daughter is employed by Social Services, and youngest son is a Muhlenberg County Deputy Jailer.
Curtis began serving as Muhlenberg County Judge Executive in Jan of 2019. His prior public service was also in Muhlenberg County as the Sheriff from 2011-2018. During his tenure as sheriff, he received the Kentucky Sheriff’s Association’s highest award, the Medal of Honor and was selected by the association in 2012 as Sheriff of The Year. He has also been awarded the Silver Star for Bravery from the American Police Hall of Fame.
Curtis is active in the community and serves on numerous boards and committees. He also serves on the State Crisis Response Team and is a Peer Team member of the Kentucky Post Critical Incident Seminar. He commonly speaks at events such as civic meetings, school and college assemblies and community events.
His common theme is motivational and will often relate to attitude and leadership.
